The St. Petersburg Chinese Medicine Center, jointly established by the Chinese and Russian governments and affiliated with Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, is Russia’s first comprehensive Chinese medicine (CM) hospital with full medical accreditation and broad public recognition. It opened officially in July 2016.
At its launch, the hospital established nine departments: CM Internal Medicine, Acupuncture, Tuina, Exercise Therapy, Cardiovascular Medicine, Neurology, Sports Medicine, Rehabilitation, and Pediatrics. These are supported by a team of leading specialists from both China and Russia.
Throughout its establishment and development, the hospital has received strong support and collaboration from multiple Russian governmental, medical, and academic bodies, including the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Health of Russia, the Government of St. Petersburg, the Russian National Insurance Company, St. Petersburg State University, North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov, the Petrov Research Institute of Oncology, and Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University.
