On Feb 27, Professor Tang Zhishu, president of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM), met with Professor Necdet Ünüvar, president of Ankara University, to discuss expanding cooperation in medical education and research.

President Tang welcomed the delegation, highlighting Ankara University's strengths in medicine and pharmacy. He emphasized BUCM's commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and talent cultivation, proposing joint efforts in clinical research on major diseases like cancer, integrating Chinese and Western medicine, and promoting traditional herbal medicine.

Professor Tang suggested using specific projects to deepen collaboration, focusing on new integrative treatment models and a joint initiative called "New Era Shennong Tastes Hundreds of Herbs Action" to foster mutual learning in traditional medicine.
President Ünüvar thanked BUCM for the warm reception and shared Ankara University's advancements in medical education and research. He expressed interest in collaborating in teaching, research and clinical areas, noting Turkey's rich traditional medicine history.

The discussions resulted in agreements on signing cooperation agreements, faculty and student exchanges, and joint research initiatives. Both universities aim to expedite these processes to enhance their collaboration, contributing to global health with shared insights and efforts.
